Sara Takanashi also won the second competition in Rasnov, Romania, and took her 12th win this season. With jumps on 85 m and 93.5 m and a total of 230.4 points she clearly won ahead of US American Jessica Jerome and Evelyn Insam of Italy.

"Today the conditions at the hill were very different than Saturday. The wind was changing and it was difficult, but under those circumstances I managed to jump well. I’m happy that I achieved the goals that I set before this weekend and I already focus on the next competitions. I’m very satisfied with the quality of the Rasnov ski jumping center and I want to congratulate the organizers on the good job", said Takanashi.

Jerome achieved her first podium result in more than two years with 89 m and 90.5 m and 220.0 points. "It’s been a while since since I stood on the podium. My jumping this season has been close but it never really happened for me in any event. Today I had good conditions and good jumps, so I’m satisfied. This season I had many ups and downs. I’m really looking forward to the next competitions."

Evelyn Insam, who was in the lead after the first round with 93 m, jumped on 86 m in the final and with 212.3 points she came in 0.1 points ahead of Maja Vtic.  “It was a strange competition, the wind conditions were changing very fast. I was very lucky and I’m happy that I could use that to get on the podium. Rasnov did a very good job here, they prepared the hill perfectly, also the hotel is very nice. I hope I can celebrate this success today a bit, but not much, because we still have more competitions to go. I can’t wait to jump on the large hills" said Insam.

Exciting race for the third place

With jumps on 85.5 m and 92 m, Vtic was 0.3 points ahead of Maren Lundby who was fifth with 84 m and 90 m. Yuki Ito, third in Rasnov on Saturday, was sixth this time with 210.4 points, followed by Irina Avvakumova in seventh. Julia Clair was the best French in eighth with 207.0 points. Helena Olsson Smeby (206.4 points) and Katharina Althaus (206.2 points) completed the Top 10. Ulrike Graessler, seventh on Saturday, could show a good performance again and was 11th, Finland's Julia Kykkaenen ws 12th, followed by Anna Haefele. The bronze medalist of Sochi, Coline Mattel, and her French teammate Lea Lemare were 14th and 15th.

Four Slovenes in the final

Besides Vtic, three more jumpers of Slovenia qualified for the final round. Ursa Bogataj was 17th, Spela Rogelj 19th and Katja Pozun 22nd. The 21st place of Sofya Tikhonova and the 27th place of Daria Grushina were a success for the Russian team. Sabrina Windmueller scored some World Cup points for Switzerland in 28th.

Overall World Cup already decided

Sara Takanashi already won the overall World Cup title with 1420 points. With four more competitions this season, Carina Vogt (761 points) and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (682 points) are currently second and third. Iraschko-Stolz will not be competing anymore this season due to a knee injury so Irina Avvakumova (642 points) has a good chance to finished third in the overall ranking.

The World Cup continues with the competition at the Holmenkollen in Oslo next Saturday, the final competitions will be held in Falun (SWE) and Planica (SLO).
