The traditional big oversees opening of the Continental Cup season in Soldier Hollow / Par City can take place as planned. Today's snow report came back positive. Snow controller Alan Johnson: "Everything is in great condition here and we are 100% ready!". Good news for the Continental Cup athletes who are as eager as their World Cup counterparts to start their season.
During the next week, the athletes will have three chances to collect first Continental Cup points in three individual competitions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The competitions venues are Utah Olympic Park, the Olympic venue of the Games in Salt Lake City in 2002 and hosts a total of six ski jumps of which the the HS 100 normal hill will be used for the competitions.
The cross-country races take place in the ski resort of Soldier Hollow, located 53 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Last year, veteran Todd Lodwick snagged three victories in a row on home soil. Who will take this year's podium results is still open and will surely prove as thrilling as the races of the World Cup athletes have been so far.
