One highlight is chasing the next during this Nordic
Combined season and after to the World Cup kickoff
in Kuusamo, the first title event of the winter
is less than a month away: the Universiade in Trentino.
The Winter Universiade is an international sporting
and cultural festival which is staged every two
years in a different city. It is only second in
size and scope to the Olympic Games. Embracing FISU’s
motto of 'Excellence in Mind and Body', the Winter
Universiade incorporates educational and cultural
aspects into 11 days of sports competitions, allowing
university student-athletes worldwide to celebrate
with the host city in a true spirit of friendship
and sportsmanship.
In total, 2.500 participants from 50 countries are
expected to take part in the Italian edition of
the Universiade. Sports broadcaster Eurosport will
report live from the competitions, planning to air
75 hours of competitions, split between the channels
Eurosport and Eurosport 2.
The Nordic Combined events are scheduled for the
12th (Individual Gundersen HS 106), 16th (Mass Start
HS106) and and 18th of December (Team HS 106).
As a first national ski association, the German
team named its athletes for the Universiade today:
