Team Austria completes training
camp in Val di Fiemme
It was back to the location of successful World
Championships for the Austrian team which traditionally
returns for an autumn camp in Italy's Val di Fiemme
every year.
Berni Gruber who returned from Val di Fiemme with
two silver medals last winter was definitely reliving
memories when returning to the traditional OSV team
hotel and to the jumping hills in Predazzo: "The
World Championships were completely crazy and when
you return to the hill, the memories definitely
come back full force. But actually I am experiencing
the same feeling wherever I've had big successes
or failures. Regarding Val Di Fiemme, I have to
say that it's mainly positive memories."
After taking a short break due to their respective
smaller injuries from the Summer Grand Prix, Christoph
Bieler and Mario Seidl were back with the team,
as well as Mario Stecher and Sepp Schneider who
will soon be making their first jumps after their
knee injuries from last winter. As of now, they
are focussing on roller-skiing as well as preparative
exercises for the jumping.
In general, the camp which was attended by the national
team and also the training group 2, was focussed
on fine tuning the jumping material and using the
beautiful mountain passes of Val di Fiemme for long
roller-skiing units. The next item on the busy agenda
will be the Austrian summer nationals in Innsbruck
and Stams on the 5th and 6th of October.
