The working day of the athletes ended earlier than
planned on the second day of competition at the
Continental cup in Lillehammer. The second round
on the Lysgardsbakken had to be canceled after six
jumpers due to the strong wind.
So the winner of the day was Marinus Kraus. The
German, second yesterday, won the competition after
round with his jump on 132 m and 131.7 points.
"The competition today was not that difficult.
I'm in a good shape and I already jumped well in
training and also yesterday. You have no influence
on the conditions, and it went well for me anyway",
said Kraus.
Martin Koch could significantly improve his performance
compared to the 30th place on Saturday. With also
132 m and 129.2 points, the Austrian came in second
on Sunday.
The third place went to the only 17-year-old Slovene
Anze Lanisek with 130 m and 126.6 points.
The best of the Norwegian local heroes missed the
podium by the smallest possible margin. Ole Marius
Ingvaldsen jumped a bit farther than Lanisek with
his 130.5 m, but at the end he missed the Top 3
by only 0.1 points. Swiss Marco Grigoli came in
fifth, also only exactly one point behind third-placed
Lanisek.
Michael Hayboeck of Austria repeated his sixth place
of Saturday's competition, followed by Robert Johansson
of Norway (7th), Slovenia's Tomaz Naglic (8th) and
his teammate Thomas Diethart (9th). Czech Jan Matura
completed the Top 10 in this competition.
Before the final two competitions in Klingenthal,
Germany, Jakub Janda leads the overall ranking of
the COC with 401 points. Marinus Kraus is now second
with 314 points, ahead of Krzysztof Biegun (292
points).
