The Russian summer national championships took place
in Chaikovskiy from the 12th to the 14th of September
a featured a competition from the normal hill with
a 7.5 kilometre run and another one on the large
hill with the classic 10 kilometre Gundersen-distance.
With a total of 137 points on the normal hill and
131.8 points on the large hill, jumping expert Eveniy
Klimov ranked first after the jumping part on both
competition days, as to be expected. In the 7.5

cross the finish line 14 second ahead of runner-up
Samir Mastiev. Mastiev was the best runner in the
field, improving an intermediate eleventh rank to
the final second place with a time of 16:15.9 for
the 7.5 kilometres. Viacheslav Barkov followed on
rank three, +1:12.5 behind Yahin. Evgeniy Klimov
finished fifth, behind Maksim Kilin and ahead of
Ivan Panin.
It was Niaz Nabeev's time to shine two days later
when the competition on the large hill was on schedule.
Already ranking second after jumping with -again-
one minute and two seconds to make up on Evgeniy
Klimov, Nabeev finished a clear 35.8 seconds ahead
of Viacheslav Barkov and 43.9 ahead of normal hill
winner Ernest Yahin. Barkov needed 22:49.0 for the
10 kilometres and worked his way up on the podium
from an intermediate rank nine. Final places four
to six went to Damir Hinsertdinov, Samir Mastiev
and Ivan Panin.
