About five months after his last jumps at the Olympic
Winter Games in Sochi last February, Thomas Morgenstern
has now returned to the hill.
Under the eyes of the new head coach Heinz Kuttin,
the 27-year-old made five jumps on the normal hill
in Villach on Thursday. More jumping sessions shall
follow over the next weeks.
"I was pretty nervous before the first jump.
Then it got a bit better and it worked pretty well.
It was not a lot of fun yet, but I didn't expect
it to be. This was yet another step towards a continuation
of my career and further steps will follow soon!",
said the Olympic Champion of 2006.
Heinz Kuttin was definitely satisfied with the performance
of his athlete: "We were focusing on feeling
and security. Thomas started to analyze as usual
after the second and third jump, the feeling is
already completely back again. The fifth jump was
perfect technically!"
