Jarkko Maeaettae is in a very good shape already
this early in this summer season. The young Finn
recently won three competitions in a row at the
Finlandia Veikkaus Cup.
In the opening event of the tour the 19-year-old
took the win on the normal hill in Rovaniemi with
96.5 m and 97.5 m (259.5 points). With the longest
jump of the day on 99 m in the first round and 93.5
m in the final, Lauri Asikainen came in second with
256.0 points. The third place went to Ville Larinto
with 246.5 points (93.5 m and 94.5 m).
Jarkko Maeaettae then dominated Monday's competition
on the large hill in Kuusamo with 144.5 m and 133
m for a total of 303.0 points. Already 30 points
behind the winner, Anssi Koivuranta was second with
his jumps on 128 m and 132.5 m (270.9 points). With
his total of 266.1 points (130.5 m and 131.5 m),
Lauri Asikainen was on the podium again as third.
On Tuesday the same three athletes were on top in
Ruka. Jarkko Maeaettae showed the longest jumps
in both rounds with 140.5 m and 128 m (287.3 points)
and took his third win in a row. The other two spots
on the podium once again went to Anssi Koivuranta
(139 m and 122 m; 271.3 points) and Lauri Asikainen
(136 m and 119 m; 259.0 points).
