Severin Freund, Michael Neumayer, Andreas Wellinger - FIS
About two months after the end of last season, the German jumpers now return to the hill again. The team of head coach Werner Schuster is training in Oberstdorf from May 19th to 22nd.
During this training camp Severin Freund, Andreas Wellinger, Andreas Wank, Marinus Kraus, Karl Geiger, Michael Neumayer and Markus Eisenbichler make their first jumps of the summer, Richard Freitag is the only member of the training group Ia, who is not jumping in Oberstdorf.
"Two weeks ago we had our physical performance tests and now, as part of our first training camp together, we started jumping again on Monday. Richard used the past weeks to fully recover from his periostitis. That's why he started the physical training later and plans to make his first jumps early June", Werner Schuster is quoted in a media relese of the German Ski Association.
The athletes are definitely happy that they can now jump again. "After all the weeks without jumping I'm now really looking forward to being back at the hill. It will be interesting to jump with the new equipment, namely the new suits. We will of course work on the perfect setup for that", said ski flying World Champion Severin Freund.
