Anders Johnson and Klemens
Muranka underwent surgery
Anders Johnson - FIS
Anders Johnson of the USA and Klemens Muranka of Poland both underwent successful surgery this week.
The 25-year-old American was suffering from knee problems for a longer period of time already and now decided for surgery. "For the better part of the last two years I have been battling with some pretty intense knee pain. Some days the pain was so intense that I wasn't even able to walk up stairs. Despite trying just about everything I could the knee continued to get worse.", Anders Johnson wrote on his facebook page.
A cartilage damage was now repaired in surgery on Tuesday. "They were able to see that there was no damage to any ligaments and there was still enough cartilage in the knee joint to clean out the damaged cartilage. Thankfully the damage was less than they were expecting and within a few weeks I should be back to 100 %", Johnson continued.
Muranka had eye surgery
Klemens Muranka is already being treated for vision disorders since 2012 and now he underwent surgery in Cracow on Monday. "The surgery went well. One eye was operated now, and there will be another surgery in three weeks, then on the second eye", the 19-year-old is quoted on the website of the Polish Ski Association.
