Despite the lack of snow in Central Europe the organizers
of the World Cup in Willingen (GER) early February
got the green light for carrying out the competitions.
After the FIS snow control on Friday it was announced
that the two individual competitions on the Muehlenkopf-hill
can take place. Also snow that was transported to
Willingen from Titisee-Neustadt (GER) made it possible
to prepare the large hill for this event.
"The last trucks with snow arrive on Friday
and this will be used to prepare the hill. The landing
area is prepared with two snow groomers. The weather
also works in our favor because it shall snow and
get colder. About 25 cm of snow are expected until
Tuesday", said Juergen Hensel of the OC in
Willingen.
The two competitions in Willingen will take place
on February 1st and 2nd and, only a few days before
travelling to Sochi, they will serve as a final
test for the top athletes before the Olympic Winter
Games in Russia.
