4-Hills-Tournament winner Thomas Diethart will take a break after this great success and will not take part in the ski flying event in Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf in front of his home crowd this weekend.
"Thomas has accomplished something great over the last twelve days and gained new experiences. It's new for him to jump in front of so many spectators and also that the expectations are so high. Now he has the chance to let it sink it and enjoy the success", explains head coach Alexander Pointner.
The 21-year-old would have liked to compete at the Kulm, but made this decision together with Alexander Pointner. "It would have been a dream to fly here, but I'm sure I'll get the chance to ski fly soon."
Also Andreas Kofler and Manuel Fettner will not compete this weekend, instead ski flying specialist Martin Koch is back on the Austrian team. "We want Martin to get in a good shape again. Let's not forget, that we will also have ski flying World Championships in Harrachov this season", said Pointner.
Besides Koch, Gregor Schlierenzauer, Thomas Morgenstern, Wolfgang Loitzl, Michael Hayboeck, Stefan Kraft and Manuel Poppinger will take part in the competition at the Kulm. Thomas Diethart will be a spectator at the hill on Saturday.
