Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT) has won two of the four
individual World Cup events so far this season.
>>
If Schlierenzauer wins one of the competitions in
Titisee-Neustadt, it will be his third win of the
season. He can set a new World Cup record by winning
at least three individual World Cup events in eight
different seasons. So far, he has done this every
season since 2006/07.

Schlierenzauer currently shares the record of seven
seasons with three or more individual World Cup
victories with Matti Nykänen (FIN), who did
it every season from 1981/82 to 1987/88. Schlierenzauer
can be the first man to win on 5 hills in one country.

Schlierenzauer has won nine individual World Cup
events in Germany at four different venues (Klingenthal,
Willingen, Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen).

No ski jumper has ever won World Cup events at five
different venues in one country. Schlierenzauer,

Four countries dominating
recent individual WC events

won by athletes representing only four different
countries: Austria (7), Poland (4), Germany (3)
and Slovenia (3). (These numbers include a tie for
first in Oslo in March 2013).

The last time someone from outside these four countries
won an individual World Cup event was Jan Matura's
(CZE) double victory in Sapporo in January 2013.

Severin Freund (GER), who won the most recent competition
in Lillehammer, can win back-to-back individual
World Cup events for the first time in his career
on Saturday. The last German to win back-to-back
World Cup events was Richard Freitag earlier this
