Schlierenzauer can be first man with 8 seasons of 3+ WC wins

>>
Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT) has won two of the four individual World Cup events so far this season.

>>
If Schlierenzauer wins one of the competitions in Titisee-Neustadt, it will be his third win of the season. He can set a new World Cup record by winning at least three individual World Cup events in eight different seasons. So far, he has done this every season since 2006/07.

>>
Schlierenzauer currently shares the record of seven seasons with three or more individual World Cup victories with Matti Nykänen (FIN), who did it every season from 1981/82 to 1987/88. Schlierenzauer can be the first man to win on 5 hills in one country.

>>
Schlierenzauer has won nine individual World Cup events in Germany at four different venues (Klingenthal, Willingen, Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen).

>>
No ski jumper has ever won World Cup events at five different venues in one country. Schlierenzauer, who shares the record of four with three others, can be the first (see table below).

>>
Schlierenzauer can also become the first man to win 10 individual World Cup events in Germany.

>>
He is already the only man in World Cup history with 10 or more individual victories in a single country, with 12 wins in Norway.

>>
Schlierenzauer owns 17 individual World Cup podiums on German snow. This weekend he can tie the record of 18 podiums in a united Germany, jointly held by Janne Ahonen (FIN) and Adam Malysz (POL).

>>
Jens Weißflog (GDR/GER) made 23 World Cup podiums (including seven wins) in what is now Germany, including 10 in West Germany, two in East Germany and 11 in a united Germany.

>>
Schlierenzauer has participated in two World Cup events at Titisee-Neustadt, coming eighth and second in the two competitions there in February 2007.

Four countries dominating recent individual WC events

>>
The last 16 individual World Cup events have been won by athletes representing only four different countries: Austria (7), Poland (4), Germany (3) and Slovenia (3). (These numbers include a tie for first in Oslo in March 2013).

>>
The last time someone from outside these four countries won an individual World Cup event was Jan Matura's (CZE) double victory in Sapporo in January 2013.

>>
Severin Freund (GER), who won the most recent competition in Lillehammer, can win back-to-back individual World Cup events for the first time in his career on Saturday. The last German to win back-to-back World Cup events was Richard Freitag earlier this year. World Cup returns to Titisee-Neustadt

>>
There have been nine World Cup events held at Titisee-Neustadt, all between 2001 and 2007 and all large hill individual events.

>>
Adam Maylsz (POL) is the most successful jumper at the venue with three World Cup wins there.

>>
