Organizers warn of overpriced tickets for 4-Hills-Tournament - FIS
The boom in ticket sales for the 62nd 4-Hills-Tournament gives the organizers of the ski jumping highlight reason to warn the fans of buying overpriced tickets: "We advise everyone to buy the tickets through the official Print@home-Ticketservice on our website www.vierschanzentournee.com. Here you get the official tickets with a best price guarantee", explaines general secretary Stefan Huber (Oberstdorf).
Background of the warning: The high demand for tickets for this winter's highlight (December 28th to January 6th) made profiteers emerge on scene who sell overpriced tickets on various internet platforms. So you have to pay 35 € for a regular standing room ticket for the qualification in Oberstdorf that would officially only cost 13 €.
"This is pretty brazen and we are considering possible legal steps in order to protect the spectators. But these unauthorized vendors are operating in a grey area so we are unable to rule out this kind of abuse", said Huber. They use google ads to buy themselves a top ranking on the search engine and hope to reach as many ski jumping fans as possible. What bothers the organizers most: These resellers buy their tickets at the regular price through the official ticket service of the 4-Hills-Tournament, then they label over the price in a professional manner and want to sell them for up to five times the face value.
Meanwhile ticket sales for the 62nd 4-Hills-Tournament are the best in years. "Already more than 40 000 tickets were sold for the Tournament, this has never been the case early December", told Alfons Schranz (Innsbruck), president of the 4-Hills-Tournament, who also has good news for hte fans: "There are still plenty of tickets available for all four locations."
Tickets for the 4-Hills-Tournament are available through the Print@home-Ticketservice at www.vierschanzentournee.com.
