4-Hills: Preparation of the
hills already in progress
Everything on track for the 4-Hills-Tournament
- OC Vierschanzentournee
More than three weeks before the opening event in
Oberstdorf (December 29th), it's already clear that
the first highlight of the season for the ski jumpers,
the 62nd 4-Hills-Tournament, can take place. The
organizers announced on Thursday that there's enough
snow to start preparing the hills in Oberstdorf,
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
"We can give the all-clear at all four venues.
We are already preparing the hills and are looking
forward to an exciting 62nd 4-Hills-Tournament",
explains Alfons Schranz (Innsbruck), president of
the 4-Hills-Tournament.
The smaller hills up to a hill size of 106 are ready
for training in the centers in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen
and Bischofshofen. By mid December the large hills
(up to HS 140) and the Bergisel-hill in Innsbruck
shall be ready as well. It is expected that the
national teams of Germany and Austria will use their
home hills to get in top shape for the 4-Hills-Tournament
after the World Cups in Titisee-Neustadt.
"Various nations asked if it's possible to
train here in order to have the best possible preparation
for the 4-Hills", said Stefan Huber, CEO of
the 4-Hills-Tournament and general secretary of
the opening event in Oberstdorf.
