4-Hills-Tournament: High demand for tickets

Earlier than in the previous years, the German ski jumping fans are in anticipation of the first major winter sports highlight of the season. There's already a huge demand for tickets for the opening event of the 62nd 4-Hills-Tournament in Oberstdorf (Dec. 28th/29th) even before the World Cup season kicks off in Klingenthal late November. Tickets for the 4-Hills opener are on sale online via the Print@Home-Ticketservice, all categories are still available.

"As before we sold ticket packages for both days, the qualification and the competition, during the first period of the advance ticket sale. The demand for the packages was already higher than in the previous years. Since we started selling tickets for each day separately it really took off", explains Stefan Huber, head of the 4-Hills-Tournament and general secretary of the opening event in Oberstdorf.

Besides Huber, also Dr. Peter Kruijer, chairman of the Ski Club Oberstdorf, is crossing his fingers for the German jumpers in the first weeks of the season. "Last year showed that when Severin Freund, Richard Freitag, Andreas Wellinger and the others achieve good results then the demand for tickets increases."

Great for the local fans in the region: With 20-year-old Karl Geiger, an athlete of the Ski Club Oberstdorf is a member of the World Cup team of head coach Werner Schuster. Together with 18-year-old Andreas Wellinger of Ruhpolding, Geiger is one of the young guns in the German team.

General secretary Stefan Huber expects that over 30 000 fans will attend the events on the two days in Oberstdorf. "The public interest in the 4-Hills-Tournament will be even higher with the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi coming up later this season. For all the teams it will be the first big indicator in the Olympic Winter."

The 62nd 4-Hills-Tournament will start on December 28th with the qualification in Oberstdorf, the first competition will take place a day later, on the 29th. The next stops will be Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Dec. 31st/Jan. 1st), Innsbruck (Jan. 3rd/4th) and final in Bischofshofen (Jan. 5th/6th).

Tickets for the first winter sports highlight 2013/14 are already on sale online at www.arena-ticket-allgaeu.de and at the ticket hotline 08322/8090-350.
