Mikko Kokslien wins test race - Nordic
Combined Norway
Mikko Kokslien won the last summer test race of
the Norwegian team in Oberstdorf today. After wishing
to complete the summer jumping season in a good
way (fisnc.com reported), his wish became reality
today as he reached the finish line 29 seconds ahead
of Jan Schmid and 50 seconds ahead of Magnus Moan.
Magnus Krog and J?rgen Graabak finished fourth (+0:51)
and fifth (+1:53).
After the ski jumping part on Oberstdorf's HS 138
large hill with an ice track, Jan Schmid claimed
an intermediate pole position and started four seconds
earlier than Kokslien who had also already set the
second longest jump in the trial round with 130
metres (behind Jan Schmid's 135 metre jump). Moan
and Krog followed with 54 and 58 seconds of time
disadvantage and J?rgen Graabak had to wait 1:22
before he was allowed to start after a less than
stellar jump in the ski jumping part.
Sports Director Sverre Rotevatn was satisfied. "Mikko
performed very convincingly today. He had a good
development during this camp, especially in the
ski jumping part. He was better on the hill than
during the whole season preparation so far."
And what did the happy winner have to say? "For
the first time in this summer season I felt good
and had a win in our test competition on Oberstdorf
today. About time…!"
