Just in time for the kick off of the World Cup and
the Sochi 2014 Olympic season, the official FIS
website and all the discipline websites have undergone
a complete redesign and are now under one umbrella.
All the key information is still available on this
new site, along with many additional features that
the skiing and snowboarding family are sure to enjoy.
It is important for us to make sure the new website
meets your expectations, so please do not hesitate
to provide us your feedback by emailing feedback@fisski.com.
The following is a quick users’ guide for those
visiting the new website for the first time to help
you find your favorite features quickly and easily.
BLUE NAVIGATION PANEL FOR DISCIPLINE SITES
Along the blue navigation panel on the top of the
page is access to all of the FIS discipline websites:
www.fisalpine.com, www.fiscrosscountry.com, www.fisfreestyle.com,
www.fissnowboard.com, www.fisnordiccombined.com
and www.fisskijumping.com.
Each of these portals takes users directly to the
latest news, most recent videos, photo galleries
and a calendar of upcoming events. In addition,
all of the results and data for each discipline
can be found by clicking on the calendar and results
tab in the blue navigation panel. The athlete bios
are also found in the blue navigation panel along
with specific information about each discipline,
such as media information and rules, under the heading
‘More’.
SNOWBOARD AND FREESTYLE DISCIPLINE SITES
For Snowboarding and Freestyle Skiing, the different
events now have their own home pages in order to
highlight the unique characteristics of each. For
Freestyle Skiing, there are homepages for Moguls
& Aerials, Halfpipe/Slopestyle and Ski Cross.
For Snowboarding, Halfpipe/Slopestyle/Big Air, Parallel
and Snowboard Cross each have their own sections.
Although the main homepage features easy access
to next live events, the discipline websites will
still be the place to go for detailed results and
start lists. In addition, photo galleries will be
uploaded following races and as a new feature, competition
highlight clips will be posted 4-6 hours after each
event. All videos can be viewed on the discipline
page or by visiting the FIS YouTube channels of
the disciplines.
DATABASE
By clicking on Competitions in the top right navigation,
you will access the complete FIS database of results,
statistics and other information. The new lay-out
will help you access the facts and figures easily
by discipline.
