Two FIS Cup competitions for ladies (HS 71) and
men (HS 100) took place in the Romanian ski jumping
center in Rasnov this weekend.
Former nordic combined skier Daito Takahashi of
Japan won on Saturday with 94.5 m and 94 m and 245.5
points clearly ahead of his teammate Yukiya Sato
(235.5 points) and local hero Robert Valentin Tatu
(233.5 points).
Five Japanese athletes were then ahead in Sunday's
competition. With 97.5 m and 98 m (258.5 points)
Ryoyu Kobayashi was the best this time and won one
point ahead of Daito Takahashi, the third place
went to Minato Mabuchi (247.0 points).
In the ladies' competition on Saturday, Canadian
Raven Yip prevented the total success for the Japanese
team with her two jumps on 62.5 m and 215.8 points.
The second place went to Yuka Kobayashi (215.7 points),
followed by Haruka Iwasa (211.6 points).
A day later the athletes of the Far East fought
back. The win in the final competition of the weekend
in Romania went to Haruka Iwasa (66 m and 65.5 m;
227.4 points), ahead of Mizuki Yamaguchi (222.4
points) and Yuka Kobayashi (213.7 points).
