Four Continental Cup competitions are taking place
in Lillehammer this weekend, two individual competitions
for the men and the ladies. These are the only two
COC events for the ladies this summer.
The first competition on Saturday afternoon was
won by Slovenia's Ema Klinec. The only 15-year-old,
who won the Grand Prix in Courchevel recently, showed
the longest jump in both rounds with 102.5 m and
99.5 m and took a clear win with 269.0 points.
"Of course I'm satisfied with my performance.
My jumps were good, but also I know I can do even
better. It was no problem for me that I had to wait
before the final jump. Actually it was a good experience
because it can also happen in the big competitions",
Klinec said after the competition.
Already 30 points behind the winner of Slovenia,
Jessica Jerome of the USA came in second with two
jumps on 93 m and a total of 239.0 points.
The hosting team of Norway could also celebrate
a podium result today. Line Jahr finished third
with 89 m and 94 m (235.5 points).
Also the fourth and fifth place went to the local
heroes. Helena Olsson Smeby missed the podium by
only one points and was fourth, followed by her
teammate Maren Lundby.
The sixth place went to Barbara Klinec of Slovenia,
ahead of the best German, Pauline Hessler (7th).
Nina Lussi of the USA (8th), Gianina Ernst of Germany
(9th) and Norwegian Anna Odine Stroem (10th) also
achieved a Top 10 result in today's competition.
