There a plenty of new ski jumping facilities in
the aspiring ski jumping nation Russia, what was
lacking so far was the necessary officials in order
to carry out international competitions on the new
hills.
During the FIS GRand Prix in Nizhniy Tagil, the
first ever seminar for ski jumping judges and technical
delegates in Russia was now held.
"This is a milestone, because obviously international
competitions will now take place in Russia and therefore
the Russian association needs officials. About 40
persons participated in Nizhniy Tagil, among them
former ski jumpers and national ski jumping officials.
This seminar contained the basic training of the
FIS, this is necessary to become a judge or a TD
at international competitions after further stages
of training", said the seminar leader Ueli
Forrer.
The goal is to have six FIS judges and three technical
delegates from Russia by 2014, so that they can
carry out FIS Cup competitions in their own country.
