Ulrike Graessler of Germany had to undergo appendix
surgery in Russia due to acute pain.
Ulrike Graessler already suffered from pain during
yesterday's competition. During the night the pain
then became acute and the 27-year-old was admited
to a hospital in Nizhniy Tagil where her appendix
was removed.
"Everything went well and now we hope that
she will recover fast enough so that Ulrike can
return home with us on Sunday. But we have to wait
for the assessment of the doctors", head coach
Andreas Bauer told FISskijumping.com.
"It was all very exciting yesterday and it
messed us up a little. Of course, we wish her all
the best and we hope that we can take her home with
us this evening and that she feels better again",
said teammate Katharina Althaus.
