Russians sign contract with
Hofer and Schallert only for one year

The Federation of Ski-Jumping & Nordic Combined
of Russia wants to protect itself against any possible
failures in the collaboration with coaches Richard
Shallert and Gerhard Hofer, therefore they offered
a one-year contract for both Austrians with a possible
renewal for two more seasons, tells Alexander Uvarov,
President of the Federation.
The specialists, who are supposed to start the work
with the team of head coach Alexander Sviatov in
April insist that their employment contracts were
originally designed for three years.
"The negotiations reached the final stage.
There is only one point we still need to settle:
we offered them a "1+2" contract, that
is, with a possible renewal after one year of work.
However, they want to sign the contracts immediately
for three years. We want the contracts to include
an incentive that would give us some assurance about
the success of the cooperation" - added Uvarov.
"If something goes wrong, we can not afford
to be bound by the circumstances" - the President
explained the reason for the Russians to insist
on the proposed cooperation. Despite the disagreement
on this issue, Uvarov said that the contracts would
be signed in the coming days.
