The first training for the normal
hill competition took place on Wednesday at the
Whistler Olympic Park. Under slight snowfall, later
sleet, the Olympians very extremely relaxed and
happy about the atmosphere at the XXI. Olympic Winter

The Norwegian were positively surprised by the Olympic
Village and showed good jumps, first and foremost
Anders Jacobsen. After the first training jumps
he has to be considered a favorite for Saturday's
competition.
Ammann strong, Morgenstern and Jacobsen also

and remains in a great shape. The Swiss was among
the best in all three rounds and is one of the top
favorites for Gold.
Double Olympic Champion Thomas Morgenstern also
has good chances to win an Olympic medal. He was
strong in training. His teammate Gregor Schlierenzauer,
the top favorite, showed good jumps and was among
the best. So no surprises at the hill.
Relaxed atmosphere in Canada
In general the athletes are taken with the typical
north-American way of life. Everything's relaxed
and easy going. All jumpers seem to enjoy themselves.
The next training will be held on Thursday, 9:30
pm CET, the qualification takes place Friday.
