Four Hills champion Anders Jacobsen
continued his hot streak, claiming his first-ever
ski flying win with a victory on home snow at Vikersund,
Norway on Saturday.
Jacobsen did not put forward the day's most spectacular
jumps, but won thanks to two consistently solid
efforts.
The World Cup leader went for 208m on his first
jump and 193.5m on his second for a total of 388.3
points.
The 21-year-old Jacobsen claims his third victory
of the season just a week after winning the prestigious
Four Hills.
The absence of world number two Gregor Schlierenzauer
allowed the Norwegian to increase his overall World
Cup lead to 127 points.
In a repeat of the Innsbruck World Cup, double-Olympic
champion Thomas Morgenstern was second at the Norwegian
resort thanks to the day's second-longest jump with
his first-round effort of 206.0m.
The Austrian fell behind Jacobsen, who was third
after the first round, after a second jump of just
189.5m put him on 384.1 points for the day.
Finn Matti Hautamaeki claimed third-place moving
up from eighth with the second-best jump of the
second round worth 189.5m.
Austria's Andreas Widhoelzl disappointed with his
second jump after putting forward the day's biggest
effort of 212.5m in round one, dropping into sixth-place.
Polish legend Adam Malysz moved from 18th after
one round to eighth thanks to the best jump of round
number two on 206m.
The first-round was restarted after high back-winds
caused organisers to move the start position higher
to compensate for shortened distances.
