Austria’s Felix Gottwald took
his first victory of the season in the 15 kilometre
Nordic Combined competition in Oberstdorf.
The 30-year-old from Salzburg clawed back a 2 minute
20 second deficit after the jump with a attack on
the final climb to finish four seconds clear of
Finland's Hannu Manninen.
Gottwald's compatriot Bernhard Gruber led after
the jump, and though he fell away in the cross-country
section, he nevertheless recorded a fifth place
finish, his best result of the season so far.
Germany's Sebastian Haseney completed the podium,
finishing a fraction of a second behind Manninen.
